What you need to know about the fishing ban. What you need to know about the fishing ban ☸️ Types of biological resources subject to quotas in certain regions

Having decided to go to the shore of a reservoir, you need to know exactly when fishing from a boat is allowed. With the opening of the season and the onset of the warm season, the quiet life of avid fishermen ends. They begin preparing gear, buying new hooks, and repairing the boat. They inspect their favorite fishing spots, looking for where the best bite is. This is understandable, many people are fond of fishing, because the only tasty fish is the one that was caught with their own hands. But the fact is that in the spring it happens that the fish ban begins.

Often the whole family gathers for fishing on a boat. What could be better than a family holiday outdoors in a beautiful place? Especially if the weather is clear and there is no rain. A boat is a convenient way to transport the necessary fishing accessories with an approved fishing rod. The ideal option would be a motorized watercraft that has a decent weight and is not carried away by the current. When fishing from a boat is allowed is of interest to many.

However, you need to choose the time of rest with a fishing rod so that the ban on fishing does not apply at this time. Let's find out why fishing may not always be permitted. On the territory of Russia there are several fishing zones that have their own climatic conditions. The fishing ban is established by the Ministry of Agriculture.

You must use approved gear.

It is not allowed and there are no permits for:
  • spinning rods;
  • fishing rods with multiple hooks;
  • use of explosives;
  • chemistry;
  • electric shock;
  • traps;
  • use of piercing objects.

The duration of the bans changes annually. And they are also filmed at different times. Therefore, to know exactly when it is possible, you should look at the official website of this department.

As a rule, the timing when you can fish is related to the spawning of fish, as well as the weather that has established in a particular region.

However, the reason that the favorite type of permitted recreation turns out to be prohibited is not only the spawning period. There are periods when fishing from a boat is allowed in limited quantities and this is seasonal. During this period, fishing from boats is allowed, but only in a certain quantity. Reservoirs where spawning occurs are prohibited.

Prohibited during spawning.

It depends on the:
  1. Species of fish.
  2. A body of water in which spawning occurs.
  3. Weather conditions.
  4. The region where they go to fish.

Fishing from a boat opens after the end of the spawning period. Definitely, you should not go to the reservoir during spawning, since such fishing is considered poaching, and therefore there is a high probability of getting into a lot of trouble.

Seasonal restrictions are related to:
  1. The need to protect rare breeds.
  2. The fearfulness of the inhabitants of prohibited bodies of water to sharp sounds.
  3. Conditions for laying eggs.

When planning a trip to a reservoir, if you really can’t wait, look at where they may allow it, don’t be too lazy to go to the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture. There will be all the information about when the current period for fishing from a boat begins.

Since there are 8 zones in our country, each of them has its own permits.

Here's some general information on what date you'll need to start with:
  1. The opening dates of the ice cover have nuances regarding the timing of fishing for pike perch, bream and asp, and from June 10 it is allowed.
  2. From the moment the ice breaks up until May 15, you cannot catch pike.
  3. From the 20th of May to the 10th of June is the beginning of spawning for crayfish.
  4. In autumn, from October 1 to November 20, whitefish, peled, brook trout, grayling, ripus and eel are prohibited.

Considering the above, it is better to wait a little for the season to open and then go on vacation, rather than lose your fishing rod at best, and get into very serious trouble at worst. Therefore, you need to find out in advance and plan your trip taking into account current laws.

There is no need to be too upset, since in Ukraine there are also bans on fishing from a boat. In order to know exactly the fishing date when it is not allowed, you should use the official website of the State Fisheries Supervision Authority. Time periods also change in this country, so you can easily find yourself in an awkward position.

Spring activities:
  1. Starting from the first of August, fishing on rivers is not allowed, and it ends on June 30.
  2. From the beginning of August until the beginning of the 10th day of the first summer month, fish reservoirs and ponds are prohibited.
  3. At the beginning of April and until the end of the first summer month, there is no fishing from a boat using adjunct-type systems.

Also in spring and autumn there are nuances for catching crayfish, all over Ukraine. Therefore, find out in advance when the reservoir is removed and opened. To avoid any troubles.

Unfortunately, when planning a pleasant pastime, few people pay attention to the current laws and availability of permission. But even if a person does not know about the ban, if he meets with an inspector, this will not help him much. Even if the fishing season had already opened before, you cannot say to him: “Please allow me.”

The punishment, if there are no permits, is strict and quite harsh for trying to catch during a ban. Most likely, you will have to pay with a ruined vacation, a boat, wasted nerves and finances. In addition, if the guilt is serious, then they may be subject to criminal liability. Therefore, it is worth thinking about whether such difficulties are necessary.

Federal Law No. 166, paragraph “On Fisheries,” will help us explain the situation. This document does not limit free fishing in permitted areas when not prohibited. It is necessary to choose reservoirs in which fish have not started breeding and do not have a special regime of use.

Therefore, the Rosrybolovstvo website will be useful to us. There is a whole list there explaining where fishing on boats is allowed and where it is not, what fish can be caught and in what quantity and when it is prohibited. In particular, it is stipulated that fishing is allowed on one boat and by one person.

So, what will happen if you are caught by inspectors of the specified department, if it is prohibited to fish in the place where you:
  • you will be fined if there is a violation of the Code of Administrative Offenses, Article 8.37, Part 2. The approximate amount will be from 2000 to 5000 rubles. In addition, this legislative act also provides for confiscation of property. Including, your boat and fishing rod will be taken away;
  • destruction of a prohibitory sign is also punishable by a fine;
  • catching fish from a boat during the spawning period will cost much more, at least 300,000 rubles;
  • in the event that you were seen with the gear and the damage was assessed as major, you will have to pay from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles. In addition, the article also implies a possible arrest for six months;
  • if you come to the reservoir in your own car, then you face an amount of 3,500 to 4,000 rubles, provided that the car is located 200 meters from the shore.

As we can see, the consequences are quite serious, so it is worth planning the event in advance so as not to find yourself in a difficult situation.

Fishing is probably one of the most common and beloved activities in all of Russia, and not only. There is not a single country in the world where fishing is not loved, because from time immemorial, people used fishing to get food for themselves, feed their loved ones, and exchange their catch for things necessary for life. In the modern world, fishing is not a means of survival or obtaining food, although, probably, there are still “virgin” corners on the planet that have not been touched by the hand of civilization. But basically, fishing has become entertainment, a kind of hobby, and in some cases, a means of earning money. And few people know that in our country there is a ban on fishing...

When does the fishing ban start and end?

The fishing ban applies in every region of the Russian Federation, and applies to both sport and recreational fishing. The law was adopted by the Federal Fisheries Agency and agreed upon with the heads of all federal subjects. Each region has its own rules, terms and places of this ban.

The dates when the fishing ban begins and ends in each subject of the Russian Federation are different, but are timed to coincide with the beginning of fish spawning. As a rule, this is the spring-summer period. Moreover, the timing of the fishing ban differs from each other for each river or reservoir, even in the same region and for each type of fish. For example, in Tatarstan the ban is valid from April 25 to June 10, in Bashkiria from May 1 to June 10, in Saratov (on the Volga) from May 1 to July 1, etc.

In Moscow and the Moscow region, when a spring fishing ban is introduced, the following restrictions apply (excerpt from Order No. 1, adopted on January 13, 2009 by the Federal Fisheries Agency “On approval of the Fishing Rules for the Volga-Caspian Fishery Basin”):

  1. On the Volga at a distance of less than one kilometer from the dam in the city of Dubna downstream (with the exception of the bay in the oxbow lake on the right side of the hydroelectric complex);
  2. In the Pestovsky reservoir:
    • from the mouth of the Kokotka River to the line passing through the bay from the pier for ships of the “Raketa” type (along the right bank) to the military hunting base “Barskie Prudy” (along the left bank);
    • the water area of the Berezovy Islands at a distance of less than 500 meters from the water's edge;
    • at a distance of less than 100 meters from the water’s edge and less than 500 meters in both directions from the administrative boundaries of the village of Drachevo;
  3. On the Klyazma Reservoir: in Krasnaya Gorka Bay;
  4. In the Lutosnya River and its tributaries within the administrative boundaries of Solnechnogorsk and Dmitrovsky districts;
  5. In the Istra Reservoir:
    • the water area of the Kostyaevsky Islands at a distance of less than 100 meters from the water’s edge;
    • the right bank water area of the Istra River from the mouth of the Chernaya River with a belt width of 50 meters for 1.1 km towards Pyatnitsky Reach"

But a ban on fishing does not mean that you cannot approach a body of water with a fishing rod at all. It is possible, but there are strict restrictions.

Restrictions on fishing during the spring-summer spawning period, applicable to all regions

  • First of all, you are allowed to fish with just one fishing rod(float, bottom, fly);
  • Secondly, there should also be one hook and its size should not exceed number 10;
  • Third, you can fish during the day, but not at night;
  • Fourthly, you can fish exclusively from the shore.

And when the ban on fishing is lifted, these restrictions also cease to have force and you can safely equip your boat and go fishing overnight.

Before the spawning period, you can go on a boat with a motor and catch fish from it without restrictions, observing the rules of fishing and driving a boat. But with the beginning of the spring-summer spawning period, you can row, but fishing from a boat is prohibited. Moreover, you cannot fish from a boat moored to the shore and transport fishing rods and fishing equipment in it, even if you do not intend to use them. That is, a fisherman cannot get, for example, to the other shore, because having put the gear in the boat, he will have to answer to the law. There is only one way out - to look for bridges, of which there are not so many on our rivers, and sometimes there are none at all. If you had no plans to fish, but just wanted to kayak in a place where fishing is prohibited, then you will have to contact the local authorities to get permission to do this. According to the rules of fishing and fishing, “... during the fishing ban, citizens are prohibited from using small vessels and vessels with engines.”

The fishing ban also includes:

  • Prohibition of fishing from boats and from ice at night;
  • Fishing using explosives, chemicals or electric current;
  • It is prohibited to drive onto the ice in vehicles;
  • A ban on fishing using girders and circles of more than five per fisherman, etc.

Spinning fishing during the prohibited period

Many people are interested in why, during the spawning ban, it is allowed to fish with a regular single-hook fishing rod, but there remains a ban on fishing with a spinning rod. The fact is that during spawning, fish can swim very close to the shore: the female lays eggs, and the male fertilizes them. When fishing with a spinning rod, while furrowing the bottom, unfertilized eggs can mix with silt or the clutch will break, then the eggs will die. That’s why a float fishing rod is allowed; it has lighter tackle that doesn’t drag along the bottom and doesn’t cause damage to the eggs.

But spinning fishing is not prohibited everywhere, but only in certain places, which are provided for by the law on the prohibition of fishing.

Responsibility for violating fishing laws

If you nevertheless go fishing during the spring-summer spawning period of fish, you need to remember the responsibility that you bear in the event that you are detained by fisheries inspectors.

Ignorance of fishing rules and the terms of the fishing ban does not relieve you of administrative responsibility, therefore, when planning to go fishing in a particular area, it is worth familiarizing yourself with these rules.

When approaching the fisherman, the fisheries inspector must present his official identification. He may inspect your gear, catch, and your vehicle and ask for documents.

By the way, there is a fine for prohibited fishing. In accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences, it can range from 5 to 10 minimum wages.

Remember, payment of the fine is not made at the place of fishing, but according to a receipt at Sberbank branches, and within 10 days you can appeal the inspector’s decision in court.

In case of serious violations of fishing rules, a criminal case may be initiated under article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal extraction of aquatic animals and plants”. In this case, a large fine of up to 200 thousand rubles or imprisonment of up to two years is imposed. Such serious violations include the use of prohibited fishing gear, leading to the extermination of a large number of aquatic plants and animals in the reserve, in environmental disaster zones, in spawning areas and on migration routes to these places.

You can if you are careful enough

In conclusion, I would like to add to the above: catch fish, cook delicious fish soup and enjoy your vacation with a fishing rod in your hands. Just do it in such a way as not to harm the fish or “break” all the natural processes of its spawning and migration. For example, if you want to go fishing during the spawning season, take a fishing rod, not a spinning rod, because the ban on fishing was not invented by chance. This is a kind of ballast between the human desire to fish and the fish desire to simply live and reproduce. Without disturbing the natural harmony and doing everything in moderation, you will accomplish two important missions: diversify your leisure time and give the fish a chance to reproduce.

My father-in-law and I decided to open the motorboat season this year on the Volga in Stepnoye with friends. Having met Dima and Slava in the village on Friday evening, we went together to the Damansky Peninsula.

Initially, we planned to quickly set up a tent and pump up the boats and go out for catfish at night, but the weather intervened: the wind, which had been blowing all day and driving waves along the Volga, was not going to subside, and we decided to postpone fishing until the morning. But the neighboring fishermen nevertheless swam out and before three o’clock in the morning they caught five obscenely small catfish.

While we were setting up the camp and getting things going, the big full moon rose, and we, having had dinner in the moonlight, went to bed, setting the alarm clock for three in the morning. How nice and cool it was in the tent after the exhausting stuffiness of the city! At three o'clock it was already as bright as day, and it was almost completely calm. Having quickly washed up, we began to rock the boats: it coincided that both Dima and I were launching our boats for the first time. I had a new three-seater Badger with a five-horsepower Yamaha engine, and Diman had a regular two-seater PVC car.

We decided to go in a hitch (with Dima in tow) to a new place for us - Kriusha (a flooded river, which is located almost in the middle of the Volga, 2.5 kilometers from the shore). By the time we got ready and got to the place, it was already six in the morning. Dima and I cast donks for catfish, and my father-in-law filled the feeder with bread and started casting a ring.

However, in two hours we didn’t really see any bites, only I pulled out two small gobies from a ten-meter depth. And at that time, dead large crucian carp and small herring were swimming past us along the Volga - it looked like someone had poisoned the fish again... Upset, we reeled in our gear and went to the shore.

After breakfast, my father-in-law and I went to the forest belt to pick blackcurrants and in 3.5 hours we collected a full bucket. We returned to camp for lunch, and after lunch, after resting for a couple of hours, we began to prepare for evening and night fishing. For a long time we doubted whether to go out or not because of the wind, but Dima persuaded us, and we sailed out on two boats, but without a motor, fortunately the sail was not far away. They decided to fish at the old proven place - the first river.

We left, of course, a little late, just before sunset. The wind blew with the current and, thanks to this, did not raise a large wave. The underwater river is not very wide and is limited by strips of grass on both sides. However, we decided to take different horizons to determine the best fishing spot: Diman and Slavka stood near the dump (about twenty meters from the grass), and my father-in-law and I anchored closer to the middle of the river. We each cast two donks with different attachments: here is a bunch of worms, a May beetle larva, live bait, and even slightly rotten lard (of course, my father-in-law baited it). Almost immediately I get a sharp bite, but no fish are caught. And then - silence...

An hour later, when it was already starting to get dark, I called my friends and found out unexpected news: Dima pulled out four catfish one after another within half an hour - three kilograms and one 1.8 kg! Slavka didn’t have a bite.

We hastily weigh anchor and row towards them, closer to the edge of the dump. Meanwhile, it’s already dark, and we turn on our headlamps. And then, in the darkness, the bell on my donkey finally started ringing, I hooked and began to catch my first catfish in the last two years. Although he weighed only a kilogram (nevertheless, he managed to reach the size allowed for catching), he resisted very decently and was not accepted into the landing net by his father-in-law the first time.

About twenty minutes later I had another bite, this time on a larva (all the other catfish were caught on a worm). I hooked and just tore a good catfish from the bottom, when it jerked sharply and got off... After that, the biting stopped, and we became silent in the darkness. Suddenly I noticed a glow above the mountain, similar to a large fire. We thought for a long time what it was, until our friend from yesterday appeared from behind the mountain - the big red moon!

Against the background of the lunar path, we saw how our friends weighed anchor and swam towards the camp. We decided to sit for another hour, but soon the wind picked up, and we also rowed towards the shore.

This turned out to be such an interesting fishing trip! Indeed, how much depends on luck in our business: today Dima was luckier than all of us put together, it’s not for nothing that he was most eager to go fishing in the evening - as he felt!

Hello!

Fishing is the calmest, but no less exciting sport and recreation. Many avid fishermen are ready to disappear for days on end in their favorite fishing spots. And a rich catch brought home pleases not only the heart of the craftsman, but also the members of the household. After all, what could be tastier than freshly caught fried fish or excellent fish soup?

Fishing in reservoirs from a boat is the most common type of recreation. To do this, the main thing is to choose a day with favorable weather conditions: no precipitation (rain or fog), no wind and sunny.

Comfortable fishing conditions allow fishermen to sit comfortably, without worrying about streams of water pouring from the sky or the wind constantly blowing the boat away. If you use a river or reservoir for fishing, do not forget to equip your boat with a motor. An underwater current can carry the boat away from the chosen place, and the motor will not only help you move quickly along the surface, but will also make it heavier.

And also do not forget that there is a ban on fishing from reservoirs. Deadlines are established by law. The dates may change every year, this is due to the migration of fish. To be sure that the date is chosen correctly, it is worth checking the timing of the bans on the official websites of fisheries in your region.

Terms of the ban

The fishing situation is completely different in different countries, regions and regions.

So, for example, in Russia The fishing periods regulated by law look like this:

Prohibited periods (periods) of extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources:

  • from the melting of the ice to June 10 - pike perch, bream and asp;
  • from the melting of the ice to May 15 - pike;
  • from May 25 to June 10 - crayfish;
  • from October 1 to November 20 - whitefish, peled, brook trout, grayling, ripus and eel.

In addition, it is worth clarifying the prohibition periods for certain bodies of water and the regions to which they belong.

In Ukraine, fishing also has its own characteristics. A regulatory document signed by the head of the State Fisheries and Water Resources Agency appears on the official website every year. Acts specifying fishing dates also change not only for each region, for each river and lake. With the help of a special table, anglers have the opportunity to track these dates.

Main dates of the ban in the spring:

  • from April 1 to June 30 – fishing in rivers;
  • from April 1 to June 10 – fishing in reservoirs and ponds;
  • from April 1 to June 30 – subordinate systems;

Crayfish fishing for all reservoirs in spring and autumn:

  • from April 1 to June 30 – in spring;
  • from August 20 to September 30 – in autumn.

In addition, for those who like to fish with spinning rods or fishing rods with one hook, fishing is allowed in specially designated areas, away from spawning grounds.

Reasons for the ban

First of all, such measures are necessary for reproduction and restoration of fish populations in the most “hot” places. Bans are imposed by bodies dealing with issues of water bodies and biological resources. They monitor compliance with regulations and, if necessary, impose fines on poachers.

Spawning and preparation for wintering is a very important issue for government officials. Crayfish fishing is also suspended for the period of molting and the formation of eggs.

At this time, reservoirs are closed to any watercraft, and the use of certain gear is limited. Only representatives of fisheries protection have the right to move within the water management.

Any competitions related to spearfishing are prohibited. Blasting operations and extraction of building materials in spawning areas.

Do not forget that the use of prohibited devices, fishing gear or boats will inevitably be punished by Fish State Supervision employees. And these are not empty words; there are several articles that clearly spell out penalties.

Consequences of violations

Both in Russia and Ukraine, there is a list of gear and improvised materials that are prohibited when fishing all year round. Their use is poaching and is punishable to the fullest extent of the law.

Russia:

  • Networks of any type;
  • Traps of various designs, except for crayfish traps;
  • Passive fishing gear (fishing gear, pokes, etc.) on rivers rich in habitats
  • Airguns;
  • Fishing rods, spinning rods of any type, designs with a total number of hooks - over 10 pcs. for 1 person;
  • Trawls, bottom seines;
  • Hook trap devices;
  • Net devices (seines, drills, capes, scarves);
  • Lifts, scoops with dimensions over 1x1 m and mesh pitch over 10 mm.
  • Catfish traps.
  • Spears and other piercing tools for fishing.

Ukraine:

  • dragnet;
  • venter; path;
  • prison;
  • parachute;
  • spider;
  • self-catching crossing;
  • samoder;
  • fixed;
  • screen.

Do not also forget that there are fish catching standards per person. They fluctuate depending on the number of days spent in the fishing areas. So the weight of fish should not exceed five kilograms per person, and crayfish - 30 pieces per person. For a few days, for example two, the export rate is no more than ten kilograms in any form (dried, salted, smoked).

How to catch more fish?

I have been active fishing for quite some time and have found many ways to improve the bite. And here are the most effective:

  1. . Attracts fish in cold and warm water with the help of pheromones included in the composition and stimulates its appetite. It’s a pity that Rosprirodnadzor wants to impose a ban on its sale.
  2. More sensitive gear. Reviews and instructions for other types of gear can be found on the pages of my website.
  3. Lures using pheromones.

Ukraine

Penalties in this country have undergone changes. Monetary compensation for damage caused has increased several times. And careless lovers of “freebies” should think about whether they need it.

Forbidden fish species listed in the Red Book could cost 510 UAH. for a unit. But with the increase in fines, catching a bicycle carrier will cost 2,550 UAH.

The amount of penalties imposed depends on the damage caused to the fishery. And it is valued individually, for each individual caught. Damage is estimated from one - this is 17 UAH, to 150 non-taxable minimums.

  • Crucian carp or perch will cost 17 UAH;
  • Pike – 340 UAH.

For serious offenses and enormous damage to fisheries, poachers are most often brought to criminal liability. Upon arrest, the gear, boat and catch will be confiscated.

When is the best time to fish from a boat?

The best choice for fishing from a boat is morning or evening. At this time, the fish gather in schools and move around the pond in search of food.

Experienced fishermen have their own little secret: complementary feeding. Use special food or home-made food. Feeding is carried out in one place, preferably at one time. Then, when you launch, your catch will be waiting for you.

The fish quickly gets used to the additional food, which does not need to be chased. This will ensure excellent catches, without unnecessary hassle. If the depth is no more than four meters for fishing, you can use:

  • Mormyshka;
  • Spinner;
  • Fry;
  • Live bait;

Ideal weather for fishing from a boat

A good catch also depends on the weather. After all, different types of fish are active only in conditions suitable for them. Catfish, trout become active in rainy, cloudy weather. And on a hot sunny day, there is a high probability of catching crucian carp The wet shore after rain attracts trout, chub. The quiet, warm surface of the water attracts predatory fish that feed on flies and fry. The cold north wind will be a harbinger Happy burbot fishing.

Is it possible to fish with rings from a boat?

When choosing a body of water for water hunting, do not forget to choose the right gear. Depth and standing or running water are of great importance. At a depth of up to 5 meters, use conventional gear with the classic method of releasing fishing line.

If the depth is above this mark, and even more so 12 meters with a strong underwater current, use onboard gear or a ring. This is a small rod, up to a meter long. A feeder and a metal ring 6 centimeters in diameter are attached to it. secure the fishing line with hooks.

By lowering the feeder to the bottom, fishermen thus attract fish, which, sensing the smell of food, swim in the right direction, clinging to the hooks.

Every year, fishing competitions become the most popular form of recreation among residents of megacities. When buying fishing gear and floating equipment, not everyone still understands that good fishing depends on many factors.

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations for fisheries;
  • Ability to use equipment correctly;
  • Careful selection of weather conditions for fishing;
  • A good supply of provisions if fishing takes several days.

How long has it been since you had a really BIG CATCH?

When was the last time you caught dozens of HUGE pike/carp/bream?

We always want to get results from fishing - to catch not three perch, but ten kilogram pikes - what a catch! Each of us dreams of this, but not everyone can do it.

A good catch can be achieved (and we know this) thanks to good bait.

It can be prepared at home or bought in fishing stores. But stores are expensive, and to prepare bait at home, you need to spend a lot of time, and, to be fair, homemade bait does not always work well.

You know that disappointment when you buy bait or prepare it at home and only catch three or four bass?

So maybe it’s time to use a truly working product, the effectiveness of which has been proven both scientifically and in practice on the rivers and ponds of Russia?

It gives the same result that we cannot achieve on our own, especially since it is cheap, which distinguishes it from other means and there is no need to spend time on production - you order it, it’s delivered and you’re good to go!

Of course, it is better to try once than to hear a thousand times. Moreover, now is the season! This is a great bonus when ordering!
