One of the most famous records of this unique person is holding a weight of three centners with one toe. Later, he was able to increase his record by lifting half a ton in exactly the same way. This became the key to his popularity.

Alexander Zass

A circus artist and one of the most famous athletes in the world, who was considered by many to be crazy for his records and performances. The most famous of his "crazy" was the number in which Alexander lay under the wheel of a truck, to the eyeballs stuffed with coal. Few can boast of such records. Throughout his life, the athlete has worked in the circus for more than 50 years.

Yakub Chekhovskaya

Yakuba became famous for several of his records at once. In the beginning, he surprised the whole world by carrying six military men around the circus arena on one arm. This Lithuanian athlete has repeatedly surprised all sports fans. In 2009, he was named the strongest man in the world. Such a title is not so easy to earn, is it? Vasily Virastyuk

Vasily Alekseev

The strongest man in the world in history - Masutatsu Oyama

The brightest representative of the martial arts that ever existed on the planet, Masutatsu Oyama, who possessed the 10th dan of the Kyokushinkai style.

He was born in 1923 in Korea. Masutatsu began to engage in sports in early childhood - from the age of nine. By the age of 13, the young man had already become a well-deserved black belt in Chinese kempo.

After 2 years, Oyama went to Japan, where he became a military pilot. For all the time that he spent in the Land of the Rising Sun, the young man achieved great success in studying samurai traditions. For the sake of this hobby, he even subsequently left the service. In addition, Oyama decided on a hermitage on a mountain called Shinobu. Such a step was not easy for him, but the desire to bring his fighting skills to perfection overcame all doubts.

For almost a year, the man trained tirelessly. It took him 12 hours a day to hone his skills. Upon returning to his hometown, Oyama felt invincible and invincible.

He called the best martial artists to fights. But no one could resist Oyama. Some fighters gave up immediately after the first blow, which the master delivered so deftly that no one was able to block it.

Oyam could break 17 layers of tiles and 4 bricks, split cobblestones in half, demolish the necks of bottles with his clear blow, and also fight with fifty bulls.

To prove his incredible power, Masutatsu challenged the most powerful animals on the planet, but the government forbade him to kill animals in order to demonstrate his strength to everyone.

In 1964, Oyama opened a martial arts school called Kyokushinkai, which eventually became 12 million members.

The great fighter and strongman died in 1994. Thousands of people attended his funeral. In honor of Oyama, films such as "The Warrior of the Wind" and "Doomed to Solitude" were made.

As you can see, heroes exist not only in epics, but also in real life. The strongest people in the world, whose photos we provided in our article, are real strongmen who have proven their true strength in all kinds of international competitions. Whether it is worth imitating such people is up to you. But this is much better than devoting your life to addictions and unnecessary entertainment.

Since time immemorial, physical strength and strong muscles have been considered vital attributes of a true male protector. After all, if an uninvited guest comes to the house in the form of a bear, a wolf or robbers, how is a wimp going to defend his relatives and himself from trouble? A strong man could not care less for a bear, and the family felt behind him like behind a stone wall.

Hundreds of years have passed, and the situation has changed radically: a man of the 21st century does not have to be Hercules to be successful. Nevertheless, the call of nature is stronger - it is not without reason that many men pay great attention to working on their bodies, wanting to achieve a majestic body, relief muscles and great endurance.

There is a popular misconception among people that the most powerful person on the planet is certainly watching them from the TV screen - be it Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone or Jason Statham. In fact, all these, of course, outstanding athletes are simply well PR due to their muscles.

In 2015, the next World's Strongest Man competition took place. This championship was first organized in 1977 by David Webster - the famous Scot, multiple champion of his country in discus throwing and shot put, and since then has been held annually in all corners of the world. The World's Strongest Man Championship 2015 was held in the spring in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, with the participation of 30 strongmen from different countries. 2 winners of each of the 5 days of qualification advanced to the final round, and American Brian Shaw celebrated the triumph.

Brian Shaw was born on February 26, 1982 in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Height - 203 cm, weight - about 200 kg. The high growth and strong physique of both parents were passed on to the child, and by the final grades of the school, Brian came up to a huge brute for his age, under 2 meters tall and weighing more than 100 kg. He was actively involved in sports, he especially liked basketball: the guy took regular part in school and college competitions. Gradually, Shaw began to feel a craving for power sports - no wonder, with such and such inclinations! He carried the heaviest and most massive objects to make sure of his own ability to be a man of great physical strength and endurance.

The beginning of Brian Shaw's sports career is considered to be the victory in the fall of 2005 in the Denver's Strongest Man tournament as an amateur. The following year, he entered the category of professionals, and systematically improved. In 2009, he won 3rd place at the prestigious Fortissimus competition in Canada. Most of all, Shaw impressed the public with the fact that he managed to lift 6 satin stones weighing from 135 to 192 kg, which no one managed to do at the tournament. During 2009, Brian competed in the World Strongman Super Series in Romania and the World's Strongest Man in Malta. It was at the most prestigious tournament in strongman that the already classic confrontation between Brian Shaw and Lithuanian Zydrunas Savickas began. Then the Lithuanian giant won, and the American became only the third.

A year later, at the 2010 tournament in South Africa, Shaw and Savickas again reached the final. According to the total indicators in six competitions, the Lithuanian was minimally ahead of his opponent - 3 first places against 2. Savickas continued his dominance at the Istanbul Giants Live exhibition tournament in October of the same year - the American was again second. However, the reward for perseverance found a hero already in 2011, when in the third consecutive World's Strongest Man final, held on Shaw's homeland of North American soil, Brian finally managed to bypass Savickas and win the long-awaited victory.

In 2012, Shaw failed to build on his success, finishing in an unexpectedly low 4th place at the Los Angeles tournament - the worst in all the years of participation in the competition. Such a deafening failure forced Brian to lose seven sweats in training in order to regain his former form. And this brought results: in 2013, Shaw made an enchanting return, defeating his "old friend" Savickas in the World's Strongest Man final. However, the next move in this incredible struggle turned out to be again for the Lithuanian, and the American continued the tradition of remaining without a title in an even year, taking 3rd place. The last tournament at the moment in 2015 brought Brian another revenge in the battle with Savickas.

    Personal records:

  • Squats with a barbell - 410 kg
  • Bench press - 290 kg
  • Deadlift - 420 kg (without straps), 463 kg (with straps)

In his free time from training and competition, Shaw works as a personal trainer. He loves hunting and fishing, a master of delicious food, loves sweets. Brian is a bachelor, but he dreams of finding the one with whom he will connect his life.

But Brian Shaw is still the present and future of power sports, and if we talk about the strongest man of all times and peoples, then we will talk about the great Japanese-Korean Masutatsu Oyama. He is rightfully recognized as the brightest representative of martial arts, but, in addition, Oyama brought the development of karate to a qualitatively new level, contributed to its rapid popularization throughout the world, and founded a new style of karate - Kyokushinkai.

The future legend was born in July 1923 in the Korean city of Gimje. From an early age, Masutatsu began martial arts, and at the age of 13 he already received a black belt in Chinese kenpo.

2 years later, he went to Japan with the desire to become a military pilot. While serving in the air force, Oyama did not stop learning martial arts and, inspired by Japan, began to actively study samurai traditions. Because of this, he soon had to leave the service and spend some time in a hermitage and a distance from the outside world on Mount Shinobu.

It was not easy for him to sacrifice the career of a military pilot, but the passion for developing combat and spiritual skills overcame. Oyama spent more than half a year on the mountain, constantly improving in the development of military equipment and honing blows on tree trunks and branches.

Inspired, Masutatsu returned to his homeland and immediately began to show what he had learned over the years. The best martial artists met with him in battle, but no one was able to resist Oyama. Masutatsu made a big bet on the strength and sharpness of the first blow, so often opponents who were not ready for such agility ended the fight as soon as the fight began.

The strength of Masutatsu Oyama could not be described in words: a Korean with a Japanese soul smashed tiles and bricks into chips, cut off the neck of a bottle with an ideal blow of his palm, resisted aggressive bulls. To demonstrate his physical might to everyone, Oyama wanted to fight the strongest animals on Earth, but received a government ban on killing living beings for personal gain.

At the end of the 50s. he created his own Kyokushin karate school, and in less than 60 years, the number of adherents of this style reached about 15 million people! Indeed, it is impossible to overestimate Oyama's contribution to the development of martial arts. When the great fighter died in 1994, tens of thousands of people buried him.

The strongest people on the planet don't run around with a cannon on the screen rescuing hostages and defeating enemies. They demonstrate their strength at prestigious international tournaments, showing by their example that nothing is impossible and if you want to seriously engage in your physical improvement - all cards in hand!

Who is the most powerful person in the world can not be unambiguously said. In each country there are a huge number of successful and worthy athletes who show stunning results. In different periods, different heroes become on the podium.

But still there is an unspoken and generally recognized rating of the most powerful people on the planet. Here is some of them.

Already at the second competition in his life, he improved Lithuanian records. Savickas is the first and only strongman from Lithuania who squatted with a 400 kg barbell and gained 1000 kg in triathlon. In 2000, at the World Championships, he improved his own result and gained 1020 kilograms. Then he lost to the champion only 2.5 kilograms. A year later, at the Strongest Men tournament, the athlete received severe injuries to both knees. Few believed that he would return to the sport. But after 9 months, Zydrunas won the national triathlon championship.
