WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) is the largest wrestling federation founded in America. It holds weekly shows, makes films about athletes, produces branded products. Every year WWE is gaining momentum and winning the hearts of the audience. The CEO of WWE is former wrestler Vince McMahon.

WWE History

In 1952, the first wrestling federation, Capitol Wrestling Corporation CWC, was founded. The federation lasted until 1963.

early wrestling

In 1963, the new WWWF World Wide Wrestling Federation was founded. This federation very rarely held shows, literally 1-2 times a month, instead of the usual 1-2 times a week. The flow of spectators began to noticeably decrease. Therefore, it was decided to broadcast all the shows on television, which radically changed the situation. WWWF riveted a lot of spectator attention. In 1979 the name was changed.

1979 - the beginning of the history of WWF - World Wrestling Federation. This period was marked by a serious rise in wrestling in the world. The audience learned about such great fighters as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka, Andre the Giant and many others. WWF began to be broadcast frequently on television and the federation gained momentum every day. Other wrestling federations did not like this very much, as they had a serious competitor.

Hulk Hogan

In 1985, Vince McMahon decided to take the lead and popularize wrestling even more. He came up with the show Wrestlemania, which is now the biggest event of the year. At that time, such an idea required a lot of money. To get on this show, the fans had to shell out money, but it was worth it. Vince McMahon attracted sports stars and singers for entertainment, who created a vibrant program.

After that, the WWF's business improved dramatically and the number of fans increased several times.

Vince McMahon

Since 1990, the WWF has gone into decline. There were several scandals with the wrestlers with the law, this caused a decline in popularity among the audience. Vince McMahon was forced to pay heavy fines. Profit plummeted, had to lay off part of the staff. The management could not afford to pay for the top athletes, so they left for another federation. But it gave young talents like Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker a chance to break through.

Shawn Michaels

WWF was losing its popularity, had to drastically reduce the cost of tickets, which did not bring. Still, it was not possible to fill the hall for the main events of the year. The decision was made to hold several shows in the UK. This has borne fruit and good profits. The British met wrestling with a bang. Vince McMahon found a way out of this situation.

undertaker

Since 1997, WWF wrestling has become much tougher, blood appeared in the ring, the fights were as realistic as possible. There was an impression that the fighters were actually fighting. It was focused on the adult audience. Gradually, wrestling became only entertainment for adults.

The period 1997-2001 was marked by artificial conflicts in the WWF between the TOP fighters in order to provoke the public. McMahon "feuded" with The Rock, Steve Austin, to keep fans interested. It was due to this that WWF gained momentum.

Steve Austin vs The Rock

In 1999, the WWF buys its main opponent WCW and includes all wrestlers in its federation. Thus, WWF becomes the only and largest organization that hosts wrestling events.

In 2002, the WWF was forced to rename itself WWE. Due to the fact that the number of participants went off scale, it was decided to divide the federation into 2 shows: Raw and SmackDown. Each of them came out once a week, had its own champion title. Each wrestler had the right to change the show in which he performs once a year.

In 2006, the ECW Extreme Championship Wrestling show was created, but it did not last long. In 2010, it was decided to change ECW to WWE NXT, where newcomers fought for a ticket to the top division.

The real name of Andre the Giant is Andre Rene Roussimov. He was born on May 19, 1946 in Grenoble, France. In his youth, Andre suffered from acromegaly. This disease caused serious changes in his body. Andre's bones began to grow rapidly, as a result of which he became a real "giant". Despite the fact that he was an inexperienced wrestler who did not have prestigious titles and victories behind him, he managed to put eminent wrestlers on the shoulder blades.

After a series of successful matches, Andre the Giant moved to Canada. There he performed under the pseudonym Jean Ferre. Rumors about an unusually large and strong wrestler instantly spread throughout America. Andre became interested in the administration of the International Wrestling Federation.
