Healing mudras. The oldest mudras - finger yoga: the most powerful practices

It is not for nothing that folk wisdom says: "Everything is in the hands of man." Hands can replace vision, speech, hearing. They can pat on the head, hit the offender, nail, cook food and sew a dress ...

But it turns out that the fingers and palms are also a kind of "windows" of our health.

In India, China, Korea and other countries of the East, several millennia ago, they learned to use the healing power of fingers folded in a special way - mudras. It was believed that with the help of mudra, you can get rid of many ailments, improve health, increase immunity and mobilize the body's defenses.

All oriental health systems - yoga, wushu, qigong, etc. - are based on a close relationship between the physical and spiritual state of a person. If there is no harmony and balance between them, do not expect health and longevity. It is pointless to treat only the body, when something oppresses and disturbs the soul. That is why all oriental methods of self-regulation of the body, in addition to physical activities, include spiritual exercises. These include the performance of numerous mudras.

In Sanskrit, “wise” is a special position of the hands, defined by a strict canon and having a secret symbolic meaning. Mudra connoisseurs count hundreds of different meanings in combinations and figures depicted by fingers. There are mudras that symbolize talent, intelligence, confidence, teaching, reflection, threat, etc. And there are mudras with which you can maintain health and drive away the disease. We will talk about this non-traditional treatment with gestures today.

Mudras of health
In Eastern medicine there is the concept of "life force", or "energy". The characteristic and state of this vital energy are indicators of a person's health or illness. On the hands are numerous information channels, closely related to the vital energy of a particular organ. A variety of hand positions, combined with special sounds and contemplative thinking, have a special effect on the body. There is a kind of information and energy exchange between space and man, and all internal energy flows are regulated.

Any disease is reflected in the energy channels that permeate our body. With the help of mudra, one can concentrate the thought precisely on the channel that was affected by the disease, and redistribute the energy so that its flows can penetrate the affected channel. The position of the hands in this process plays the role of a conductor of energy.

Mudras can be used during attacks of pain, for the prevention or treatment of a disease. The main thing is to be sure that the mudra will help, otherwise a positive result will never be achieved. If the chosen mudra does not help, it is worth trying another one, because often the source of the disease is not where the pain is concentrated. For example, with heart pain, it may be necessary to perform not a mudra for treating the heart, but a mudra that helps cleanse the blood vessels - after all, many heart ailments are caused by atherosclerosis of the vessels.

Not all mudras are used without the supervision of a specialist. At home, you can use only 25 mudras, they have no contraindications and are easy to do. But as in all other cases of self-regulation of the body, you need to carefully monitor your feelings and, at the slightest unpleasant symptoms, stop the exercise and rinse your hands with cold water.

How to perform mudras?
There are certain rules for performing these exercises, which have developed on the basis of the centuries-old experience of Chinese and Indian healers. Of course, they have already been somewhat adapted for our time, but for those who decide to seriously engage in mudra treatment, they must be strictly observed.

Before starting the procedure, you need to stretch your fingers and “revive” your hands.
You can perform mudras in any position: sitting, standing, lying down, on the go. The main thing is that a person should feel comfortable, calm, external stimuli should not interfere with him.
You need to focus on the mudra and what you want to heal with it. While doing mudras, you should not do anything else, such as watching TV or reading a book. The effect will be greater if in these moments you pray or think about something pleasant.
You should not treat several diseases at once, start with the most significant for you. Repeat the selected mudra during the day no more than 5-6 times for 5-10 minutes. It is forbidden to perform one mudra for more than 45 minutes. The course of treatment is set individually and ranges from several days to several months, depending on the state of health.
After doing mudras, take a short pause. When moving to another mudra, first rinse your hands with cold water and shake, and only then dry with a towel. More than 2-3 mudras daily should not be performed.

Mudras will not give you complete healing, but can significantly help people who have various diseases. It is very important to choose the right mudra and perform it correctly (this is especially important if you are performing several mudras at once). Folding your fingers into various healing figurines is quite simple. For the greatest effectiveness of each mudra, it is not enough just to mechanically fold the fingers. First of all, concentration in thoughts is necessary, and a general understanding of what happens in the body when you perform this or that mudra, because they affect the energy flows in our body.

"Mudra" in Sanskrit means a special position of the hands and fingers according to strictly defined rules, or rather, according to the canons established from ancient times. Treatment with the help of mudras has developed in the East and is widely used in India, Korea, Vietnam, and China. Here, from time immemorial, people comprehended the healing power of fingers folded in a special way. Recently, like many other Eastern methods of treatment, mudras began to actively spread throughout the world.

Treatment with mudras: features of the technique

The main feature of the treatment of fingers folded in a certain way is deep concentration and mental influence (messages for healing) on energy flows, which, according to ancient oriental ideas, pass through the entire human body. If the energy channel is blocked for some reason, then the disease affects this organ. The special position of the fingers creates favorable conditions for mental influence on the channel affected by the disease. Proper distribution of energy helps to suppress the disease. Thus, mudras play the role of a conductor of energy.

The main condition for successful treatment with the help of mudras is the belief that the exercises will help. Otherwise, the treatment will be useless.

Mudra Rules

In oriental medicine, there is a fairly large (more than 100) number of all kinds of mudras, but a significant part of them should be performed only under the supervision of a specialist. At home, you can use several of the simplest mudras that have no contraindications.

Treatment with the help of mudras is a kind of meditation, and therefore it is desirable to create comfortable conditions for this.

When choosing a place for procedures, you need to give preference to secluded corners where you can remain completely calm, not be distracted by any extraneous external stimuli. Although experts say that mudras can be performed in any position: sitting, lying down, standing or walking, however, at first, the place for the session is chosen more carefully.

Before starting the exercises, you should stretch the limbs of the hands to "revive" the fingers.

Despite all the simplicity and unpretentiousness of performing mudras, you should not be distracted, that is, it is not recommended to read a book or watch TV. It is necessary to focus on mudra, directing all thoughts to healing your illness. The effect will be maximum if you pray or think about something pleasant during these moments. The main thing is to focus on the desire to live without pain and disease.

When performing exercises, there is no need to constantly look at your hands. Having correctly folded your fingers, you need to relax, you can only occasionally check how accurately the fingers maintain the desired position.

The selected mudra should be repeated during the day no more than 5 - 6 times, on average, 5 - 10 minutes each. The maximum time that can be allotted for 1 position is no more than 45 minutes. If any discomfort arises, classes should be stopped.

Since the source of the disease lies outside the diseased area, one should not be disappointed. If the chosen mudra does not help, you need to try to fold your fingers in a different way.

So, many heart diseases are caused by atherosclerosis of blood vessels. Therefore, with pain in the heart, you can perform not only mudra for the treatment of the heart. Sometimes the mudra, which helps to cleanse the vessels, can give the best effect.

After completing all the exercises, you should take a short break. When moving to another mudra, you need to rinse your hands with cold water, shake them and only then dry them with a towel. It is not advisable to perform more than 2 - 3 mudras per day.

The method of treatment with the help of mudras requires an individual approach to the patient.

The duration of treatment with mudras depends on the condition of the patient; the COURSE of therapy can last several days, weeks and even months.

Mudras - they are also called "yoga for the fingers" - this is a special position of the hands, combinations and figures of the fingers, with the help of which energy is distributed in the right directions, due to which pain is relieved, the causes of the disease are eliminated, and a healing effect is created.

Have you noticed how in difficult situations, especially when we are nervous, many people involuntarily “break” their hands, intertwining their fingers in a difficult way? In the countries of the East, from ancient times they knew the healing power of adding fingers in a special way in various situations.

Knowledge of mudras comes from the depths of centuries and has always been used in yogic and spiritual practices as an affordable way to heal the body, achieve a special state of consciousness and solve problems of a psychological and emotional nature.

It is known that our body is a complex energy mechanism, closely related to the energy of the Earth and the solar system. Each finger of the hand corresponds to the energy of a certain part of the body:

Thumb - correlates with the will, logic, love and "ego" of a person.
Index - associated with knowledge, wisdom, lust for power and self-confidence.
Medium - brings balance to life, as it is associated with patience and the ability to control feelings.
Nameless - responsible for health, activity and vitality.
Little finger - correlates with the creative abilities of a person, the ability to see and appreciate the beautiful.

How do mudras work?

The vital activity of our body is supported not only by food, but also by the energy that we receive from the Cosmos. This energy circulates through special meridian channels that provide “delivery” to all organs and tissues of the body. If a failure occurs in one or more meridians, the energy "fuel" stops flowing to its destination, and the work of the internal organs is disrupted. The reasons can be different - unfavorable external conditions, poor heredity, stress, and the result is the same - a person starts to get sick.

Six main energy channels associated with the heart, lungs, brain, liver, spleen, vascular system, large and small intestines run through the hands and fingers of a person. That is why the hand has such great healing power. By connecting fingers in certain combinations, you can activate the meridians and direct energy throughout the body, restore the flow of energy and eliminate “breakdowns” in diseased organs.

For the greatest effectiveness of each mudra, it is not enough just to mechanically fold the fingers. First of all, it is necessary to concentrate in thoughts and a general understanding of what happens in the body when you perform this or that mudra, because they affect the energy flows in our body. The second necessary condition is the regularity of performance and compliance with the time of each mudra.

Who are mudras for?

For everyone, however, out of many people, we can highlight groups that simply need it:

Children having problems with school;
Elderly people leading a sedentary lifestyle;
Patients who want to get well soon;
Anyone who wants to strengthen their immunity.

What can the wise?

  • help to gain inner strength and peace of mind
  • eliminate chronic fatigue and anxiety
  • significantly improve the emotional state of a person
  • relieve fear and anger
  • promote peace of mind
  • alleviate and cure many diseases
  • have a beneficial effect on the entire human body

When and where to apply mudra?

You can perform mudras at any time and anywhere, as long as your hands are not busy and when you feel the need to replenish energy. But the most favorable time is morning and / or evening (the best option is twice a day). Mudras should not be done immediately after eating, you can start classes no earlier than an hour later.

If possible, it is better to find a secluded place where no one will disturb you, although this is not a prerequisite. In bed, during a serious illness, watching TV or just talking to someone, on a walk, in transport, at work during a lunch break, you can use mudras as a good addition to ordinary gestures. At the same time, it does not matter at all whether you are sitting, standing or walking, although the best position, of course, is sitting with a straight back, in the lotus position or lying down. The main thing is that you should not experience any tension and pain. Mudras are best done facing east. On the hands it is desirable not to have jewelry - rings and bracelets.

How long to perform mudras?

As you master the practice, the duration of the mudra increases from 3 minutes at the beginning to 30-45 minutes when you get stable skills.

Most mudras give an immediate effect - you will immediately feel a surge of strength, clarity of mind, and peace. If you are facing more serious problems, then discipline and perseverance will be required. The disease never goes away overnight, but it will take less time to restore energy balance. Remember this every time you get lazy and try to break the regularity of using mudras. The mudras chosen by you will need to be performed for several weeks before you feel positive changes in your well-being.

How to work with mudras?

The attitude with which mudras are performed is of great importance. Starting classes, you must be absolutely calm and confident that healing gestures will bring you relief. Forget about troubles and sorrows, mentally ask for forgiveness from those whom you offended, and try to forgive the one who offended you yourself. If you are a believer, before starting the exercises, read a prayer, ask the Higher Forces to help you, and after finishing the classes, do not forget to thank the one you turned to for help.

When using healing gestures, energy flows are normalized not only in the body of the one who performs them, but also in the surrounding space. This means that mudras can be treated at a distance. The main thing is to have a sincere desire to help someone who needs it. If this person is next to you, calmly, trying not to draw attention to yourself, go up to him and start doing the mudra that is most suitable for this situation. If you are far away, imagine the addressee and mentally hold his image in front of you during the entire time you are doing the exercise.

Not only adults can learn mudras, but also children, for whom folding fingers into intricate figures is a game and pleasure. Under no circumstances should you force them! - let them do the exercises only of their own free will (but under the supervision of adults). Six main energy channels associated with the heart, lungs, brain, liver, spleen, vascular system, large and small intestines run through the hands and fingers of a person.

The art of Wisdom originated in China over two thousand years ago.. The healers of that time believed that the vital activity of the organism is supported not only by food, but also by the energy that it receives from the Cosmos.

This energy circulates through special meridian channels that provide “delivery” to all organs and tissues of the body. If a failure occurs in one or more meridians, the energy "fuel" stops flowing to its destination, and the work of the internal organs is disrupted. The reasons may be different: adverse external conditions, poor heredity, stress, and the result is the same: a person begins to get sick.

That is why the hand has such great healing power! By connecting fingers in certain combinations, you can activate the meridians and direct energy throughout the body, restore the flow of energy and eliminate “breakdowns” in diseased organs.

Mudras for healing

Perhaps I introduced you to all the main situations when and for what purpose it is worth using mudras in everyday life. But mudras have a wider effect: in addition to allowing us to change ourselves and our lives for the better, mudras are indispensable for many diseases.

First, we must define the concepts of what health and disease are, as well as what leads us to disease.

Invariably destroyed by the flow of time the body

Of a man, like the unburnt decays

Pitcher in a stream of water.

Yoga is the fire by which the body is tempered,

Becoming timeless.

Burn your body in this fire,

Thus having accomplished his cleansing.

« Gheranda Samhita"

Health- a state of the body in which all organs and systems work correctly and without tension. It is a state of physical comfort and a clear mind. A healthy person is efficient, acts and thinks correctly. It is natural for him to be in a balanced state and harmony with nature, the world around him and people, and with himself. Health is the greatest wealth of a person, the basis of a long and happy life. Good health is a gift of nature, joy, wealth. A person is born healthy. Health is the ability to slow down the aging process.

But under sickness we understand any deviations from the normal functioning of the body. Illness can be considered the opposite of health.

From the point of view of yoga, any disease occurs against the background of a violation of certain laws of nature. Think about it: wild animals rarely get sick because they lead a natural lifestyle. At the same time, pets suffer from the same diseases as humans. The cause of their illnesses is the same as that of people - an unhealthy lifestyle and diet.

In general, all the causes of ill health are simple.

1. Destructive thoughts and emotions (anger, hatred, fear).

Anger leads to depression, negatively affects the central nervous system, worsens the functioning of the liver.

Hatred causes anxiety, aggression, general malaise, coughing, indigestion, and even anemia.

Fear contributes to lowering blood pressure, rapid fatigue of the body.

2. Improper nutrition (in our conditions, alas, most often overeating or abuse of the infamous fast food).

3. Anxiety, overwork and inability to relax.

According to yoga theory, it is better to prevent the development of a disease than to treat it later. In any case, it is possible to restore health only by eliminating the causes that led to the imbalance. Compliance with at least the first steps of yoga (yama and niyama) in combination with elements of kriya yoga (cleansing procedures) helps to maintain health, and often cope with existing problems.

Of course, I could urge you for a long time (and I suspect that in general, in vain) to change your diet, feverishly engage in hatha yoga, or at least any physical activity. A few would probably follow my advice. And the rest, alas...

And in this situation, just in order to improve your health, you can resort to the practice of mudras. I will offer you a diagram of how to use mudras when painful phenomena arise. For convenience, I have arranged the diseases and symptoms in alphabetical order.
